The MIH watch
The official watch of the world’s most prestigious watch museum – the Musée International d’Horlogerie (MIH) in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland – has an annual calendar comprising just nine parts! Ludwig Oechslin thinks of a complication, then goes about creating the parts for it from scratch. The result? Amazing mechanisms unequalled for technical elegance and simplicity.
The MIH watch represents a unique collaboration between master horologist Ludwig Oechslin, industrial designer Christian Gafner (whose concept is rigorously clean-lined), renowned watchmaker Paul Gerber, and Embassy.
The Swiss Federal Office of Culture purchased one for the collection of the Design Museum, Zurich.
It is available for sale at the MIH and at Embassy stores in Lucerne and St. Moritz.
