The History of Panerai
In the year 1860, Giovanni Panerai settled down as a watchmaker in Florence. The history of Officine Panerai thus begins as a workshop, shop and first watchmaking school in the city. For many decades Panerai supplied precision instruments for the combat diver units of the Royal Italian Navy. The watches initially developed for use in depth by Panerai are known for their unprecedented legibility and luminosity in the dark. 1997 the brand became part of the Richemont group and launched on the international market.
